LS-2050(E) – Exi Intinsically Safe ATEX Level Switch

ATEX intrinsically safe level switch, all stainless steel construction. Also available in a FM/CSA approved explosion proof version (LS-2050).

These units solve the problem of point level sensing in tanks with inaccessible tops or bottoms, or at intermediate locations in larger tanks. Operation is positive and dependable. The float pivots with changing liquid levels, displacing a shuttle which magnetically actuates a hermetically sealed switch within the unit. Installation is through the tank side at the detection point. General purpose materials designed to provide reliable service in oils and water. Ultimate strength: for pressures up to 900 psig (62 bar) and temperatures up to 300°F (149°C).

Principle

When the magnetic field of permanent magnet inside the float is moved into to the proximity of the reed switch inside the stationary stem, the reed switch contacts “snap” together and closes the electrical circuit. When the magnetic field is moved away from the reed switch, the reed switch contacts move apart and the circuit is opened.
