What Is a Pressure Sensor?

Written by: Sam Goddard

A pressure sensor is an electronic device that detects and measures the force of gases or liquids applied to a surface, and converts these changes into an electrical signal that correlates to the pressure applied. This signal can be analogue or digital and is used for continuous monitoring, control, and data collection in various applications. They are widely used across industries to monitor and control pressure in systems. Applications include monitoring hydraulic systems, pneumatic controls, and process industries where maintaining specific pressure levels is crucial.
